February ’26 Book Bracket

Find reviews of February reads HERE.

The second month of reading for the year is done! Time to crown the top read of the month!! February may be a shorter month, but I was able to finish 10 books. That I was not expecting. The problem is that I really enjoyed all of them. As always, some more than others, but this is going to be really difficult. So, here we go!

In case you missed January’s Bracket, check this out!

Round 1

VS.

I thought these two were the perfect pair. So many people had so many problems with both of them! Credence deals with a whole slew of taboo-ness. What Fury Brings reverses the typical romance gender roles. Both make readers very uncomfortable for very different reasons. Personally, I loved these two. Credence for its raw emotions and broken characters. What Fury Brings for tackling that double standard we have all come to love about romance novels. Both have a warming HEA. But Tricia went the hard route and came out on top.

VS.

This one might not have been super fair. Freedom’s Fury is a 5-star read for me, considering the first book in the Broken Souls Trilogy was extremely hard for me to even finish. The Prince of Power is a random recommendation from social media that pleasantly surprised me. However, the FMC in Prince of Power is so incredibly naive, it was annoying and off-putting. This duel was a no-brainer.

VS.

It’s the battle of the abs! Bear shifter versus an immortal warrior. Finding the Lost is the second in the Sentinel Wars series, and so far, I am not super impressed. Again, the FMC will make it or break it, and Andra broke it for me. Nessa and the Bear is also the second in a series, Bearly Yours. I was fortunate enough to be sent an ARC and devoured it. Nessa, like Andra, is strong and independent. But Nessa is also freakin’ adorable, likeable, and relatable. All the ‘ables’. Her and Murphy’s banter warmed my heart.

VS.

I was worried I would be a bit biased with this pairing. I’m a big Katee Robert fan, and this is my second read-through. Both these are smut with a plotline to have a reason for all the spice. Great palate cleansers. Seduction Games’s spice is nothing special. Both these are MMF. Both jump into it fairly quickly. Both have a HEA. I found Allyson’s epilogue like a lot of the story, not very strong and rushed. Katee it is!

VS.

This duel was not the fairest of them all. But pitting either of these against very adult-themed books seemed even less fair. Lightlark has been on my TBR for years. Coraline is one of my favorite movies. Frankly, I like the movie’s translation of the book better than the actrual book. Lightlark is a great example of a true YA fantasy novel.

Round 2

VS.

This was really tough. Both of these really made an impact. When it came down to it, if I could only read one, it would be Freedom’s Fury. Sin is totally worth it.

I always get excited when I read an even number of books in a month. But then I end up with a three-way in the bracket, and it bugs me. To me, there was no contest. While Nessa and the Bear is an excellent read and Gifting me to my Best Friend fulfills exactly what you want it to, Lightlark is the plot-driven fantasy with the strongest character of these three.

Final Round

VS.

Another tough one! Will it be the ending to a trilogy or the start of a series? Both fantasy. One adult; the other YA. The slow burn in these is totally different. Mates versus a budding love that may or may not be endgame. Strong FMCs that will conquer any realm they set their sights on.

And the winner is. . .

Shocked? You shouldn’t be. Sin and Vivian’s journey has been epic. Going up against Leon and Need, facing losing not just her friends but the entire mortal realm, and possibly losing each other. Vivian’s personal journey is epic on its own!

What do you think? Do you agree with the winners?
