Living the 3 R's – Reading, Writing, Reviewing

March Update

We have officially reached the point where someone is getting kicked off the list! Despite only publishing the top 26 books, I will be keeping tabs for those that fall from or never reach this official list. I will most certainly be including it once it gets longer for those who are curious.

Let’s get to it then!

Have you seen last month’s update yet? Check it out!

*Disclaimer: This list is completely subjective and based solely on my opinions. It is not meant to indicate that one book/genre is better than another. It is based on my personal preference and mood at the time of ranking. Please read my explanations for better clarity and take it all with a grain of salt.*

Top 3:

We have a new entry into the top three. If you’ve read my review or seen this month’s bracket, you will know how much I loved Brigands. I hemmed and hawed for quite a while deciding if I loved it more than Brimstone.  The answer is clear; no. But it was damn close. It also didn’t have the impact that The Grace Year had. I am more likely to read Brigands again but would need to mentally prepare to pick up The Grace Year again.

Staying strong just behind The Grace Year.

Edging out Lightlark. I appreciated the complexity here that Lightlark lacked. The plot and lore of this world Keri created are more interesting and engaging to me. The characters are more passionate.

Maybe it’s the simplicity it holds to as a YA read that caused it to drop back. Anathema also had a rawness this lacked.

Holding tight to Lightlark’s tail. Nothing is getting between them…yet.

Following Credence’s example, What Fury Brings doesn’t want to let anything wiggle it’s way between them.

The dragon kings are swooping in with their growing plot, dark and light Fae, and of course the dragons and their mates.

A journey through Hell wasn’t strong enough to overcome whiskey making dragons this time.

This mafia series starter has definitely piqued my interest. With a FMC that is inherently a match for her mafia king without even trying. It has the dark edge I missed with Nessa & Murphy.

Like I said, Nessa and Murphy were out done by Sterling and Araenae. This is still a wonderful cozy, spicy read.

These three are sticking together. Nothing has found a way to wiggle between them yet. Coraline is still keeping up in the ranks as a juvenile read. Teddy and Leon can’t be knocked down as they are still the sweetest couple I have read. Nothing hits like a Katee Robert taboo.

16.

17.

18.

Dungeon Crawl shimmies its way into 18th position with likeable characters, drama, suspected betrayal, and a whole lot of steam. Prince of Power and Ruthless Heart hold on to their spots next to each other.

The first in the series just wasn’t as great as the second to last.

The best in this series so far. While redundancy still runs rampant and the MCs aren’t the best, the story is progressing and sucking me in.

A part of the Touch of Taboo series from Katee Roberts, same as Gifting Me to His Best Friend. Just as heated and heartfelt as gifting me at #15, I don’t know that I would reach for it again as I have Gifting.

24.

These three hold onto each other for another month.

25.

26.

Nothing new here. These two remain at the bottom and will surely get pushed out of the top 26 next month.

Honorable Mention #27

This one was a real big disappointment for me.  Thus, it didn’t even make the list. Since there are only 27 books in total, I felt bad leaving this one completely off.

How are we feeling about the list so far?
